Whistleblower system of node.energy GmbH
Compliance with laws, internal policies, and ethical principles is a top priority at node.energy. Violations must be identified early to take countermeasures and prevent harm to employees, customers, business partners, the environment, and the company. To this end, we have established a whistleblower system that meets the requirements of the Hinweisgeberschutzgesetzes (HinSchG).
Who can submit a report?
Our whistleblower system is open to all node.energy employees as well as external parties, such as applicants, suppliers, business partners, and their staff.
What can be reported?
Reports can be made regarding, in particular:
- Violations of applicable law (criminal offenses as well as administrative offenses subject to fines)
- Violations of human rights and internationally recognized labor standards (e.g., forced or child labor, disregard for freedom of association)
- Discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment
- Corruption, bribery, accepting bribes, and conflicts of interest
- Violations of environmental and sustainability requirements
- Violations of our Code of Conduct and internal policies
Our whistleblower system thus fully covers the ten principles of the UN Global Compact (human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption).
Note: The whistleblower system is not intended for general customer concerns or inquiries about our products and services – such matters will not be processed through this channel. Please contact our team instead via our contact page or by email at info@node.energy.
How does the reporting process work?
Reports can be submitted via our digital whistleblower portal:
https://node-energy.personiowhistleblowing.com
This portal is operated via our HR provider Personio's software and is available 24/7. Submitting a report is completely anonymous:
- No personal information is required, and there is no technical tracking of the person submitting the report.
- After submitting your report, you will receive login credentials for a secure mailbox. This allows the case handlers to ask follow-up questions and keep you updated on the status of the process – even while maintaining complete anonymity.
- Please keep your login credentials in a safe place, as they are the only way to access your mailbox.
Tip: If you want to ensure that visiting this reporting page does not appear in your browser history, please use your browser's private or incognito mode.
Confidentiality and protection against retaliation
All reports are treated with strict confidentiality. If you choose to disclose your identity, it will only be known to the individuals responsible for handling the case. No one may be disadvantaged for making a report in good faith (prohibition of retaliation under Section 36 of the German Whistleblower Protection Act/HinSchG). This applies to termination, warnings, bullying, and any other form of discrimination.
Procedure
- Acknowledgment of receipt: You will receive a confirmation via your secure mailbox no later than seven days after your report is received.
- Review: The internal reporting office will assess the validity of the report and initiate follow-up measures if necessary (e.g., internal investigations).
- Feedback: You will receive feedback on the follow-up measures taken or planned no later than three months after the acknowledgment of receipt, provided this does not compromise internal investigations or the rights of the persons involved.
The department responsible for handling reports is our internal reporting office within the People & Organization team.
External reporting channels
Independent of our internal reporting system, you may contact the federal government's external reporting office at the Federal Office of Justice (BfJ): www.bundesjustizamt.de
However, we recommend that you first contact our internal whistleblower system, as this allows us to respond and take remedial action most quickly.
Data protection
The processing of personal data within the scope of the whistleblower system is carried out on the basis of Section 10 of the Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) (c) of the GDPR. In the case of anonymous reports, no personal data of the reporting person is processed. Further information can be found in our Privacy Policy.
